Privacy Policy

internhunt is operated by Speedway Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company. internhunt helps you build one applicant profile and reuse it across internship applications. This policy explains what that involves for your data, in plain terms.

Who internhunt is for

internhunt covers internships based in the United States, and is offered to applicants in the United States. We do not list roles outside the US, and we do not offer internhunt to people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Access from those regions is not permitted. We may refuse or close an account we believe is being used from them.

You must be 18 or older to use internhunt, including the free tier. internhunt is not directed to children, we do not knowingly let anyone under 18 create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

What we collect

The answers you give while building your profile: your name and contact details, education, work eligibility answers, and your role, term and location preferences. Files you choose to upload, such as a resume, transcript, cover letter, or portfolio. The email address you use to create an account.

At sign-up we ask you to confirm you are 18 or older and that you agree to the Terms and this policy. We store that confirmation and the time you gave it. We do not ask for or store your date of birth.

If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects your payment details directly. We receive only what we need to run the subscription: your billing email, the last four digits and brand of your card, the country and postal code your card is registered to, and the status of your payments. If you choose Stripe Link to save a payment method, Stripe may also collect a phone number for that feature. We do not use that number for anything else.

We also keep basic technical records that come with running a website: your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested, held in short-lived server logs to keep the service secure and working.

We collect these only because you enter, upload, or generate them. We do not buy profile data about you from anyone else.

Work authorization. We ask whether you are authorised to work in the US and whether you will need sponsorship, because most applications ask it and getting it wrong on an application is serious. Some laws treat this as sensitive information. We never guess it, we never fill it in for you, and we never include it when listings are scored. You can leave it blank and still use internhunt; you will just answer that question yourself on each application.

Uploaded files. We do not ask for your date of birth or demographic information. A transcript or resume you upload may contain them anyway. We do not read those values out, do not store them separately, and do not use them for anything. If you would rather they were not in the file at all, remove them before uploading.

What we never collect

We do not ask for or store your social security number, your date of birth, or your full card number. Sensitive attestations such as work authorization and equal-opportunity questions are answered by you and are never guessed or filled in on your behalf.

How internhunt uses AI

internhunt uses AI in three places, and it is worth being exact about each, because your data goes somewhere in all three.

Reading your resume. When you upload a resume, its text is sent to Anthropic so the values in it can be pulled out and offered back to you. Nothing it finds lands on your profile until you accept it. You can correct any value or throw it away.

Scoring listings. When public listings are ranked against your profile, a limited, job-relevant subset of your answers is sent for scoring: your terms, disciplines, locations, skills, and education level. Your name, address, phone number, and work authorization answers are not part of that.

Drafting writing. On paid plans, internhunt can draft cover letters and application essays. The profile content relevant to that draft is sent to produce it.

What that means for you:

• AI can be wrong. Every value it proposes and every paragraph it drafts is a starting point for you to check, not a finished answer. You are the one signing the application.
• AI never fills in an attestation. Work authorization, citizenship, sponsorship, clearance, consent, and equal-opportunity questions are answered by you and are never proposed or filled in for you.
• AI never submits anything. internhunt fills a form in and hands it back. Pressing submit is yours, every time.
• A blank stays blank. An optional question you skipped is left empty rather than guessed at.
• Your data is not used to train AI models. Content we send to Anthropic to run these features is processed on our behalf under their commercial terms and is not used to train their models.
• We do not make automated decisions about you. internhunt ranks listings for your convenience. It does not decide anything about you, and it does not report anything about you to any employer.
• Employers may have their own rules. Some employers restrict or prohibit application materials produced with software assistance. Checking an employer's rules and following them is your responsibility.

How we use your data

• To store your profile so you can reuse it, and to fill in application forms that you review and submit yourself.
• To compare public US internship listings against your profile so the ones you can actually take rank first.
• To draft cover letters and essays, on paid plans, for you to edit before you use them.
• To run your subscription: take payment, apply your plan's limits, send receipts and renewal reminders.
• To keep internhunt secure, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse.
• To answer you when you contact us.

Who processes it

We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our behalf, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes or to sell it.

• Vercel — hosts and serves the internhunt website, and keeps short-lived request logs that include IP addresses.
• Supabase — our database, sign-in, and file storage. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Anthropic — the AI features described above: reading your resume, scoring listings, and drafting on paid plans. Your name, address, phone number and work authorization answers are not sent for scoring. Content sent to run these features is not used to train models under their commercial terms.
• Stripe — payments and subscription billing. Stripe stores your card details; we never see or hold your full card number. If you use Stripe Link, Stripe may collect a phone number to save the payment method.
• Resend — delivers account, receipt, and renewal email.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a bot check on sign-up and sign-in.
• Google — only if you choose Sign in with Google, in which case we receive your name and email address.
• PostHog — product analytics, so we can see which parts of internhunt are used and where people get stuck. It is first-party, it does not record your screen, and it does not capture what you type. It is not advertising. Used only where enabled.
• Sentry — error monitoring, so we find out when something breaks. It is configured not to attach personal identifiers. Used only where enabled.

This list is current as of the last-updated date at the top of this page. If we add or remove a provider, we will update it here.

The browser extension

internhunt also offers an optional Chrome extension that fills application forms for you. Its data handling is deliberately different from the website: everything stays on your own computer.

You import your profile into the extension once, and it is stored only in your browser's local extension storage. The extension makes no network requests with your profile data and sends your profile and the form contents nowhere. It contains no analytics and no tracking. It reads and fills forms only on Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever application pages, only when you click it, and it never submits a form. You can remove the stored profile at any time from the extension's options page, or by removing the extension.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising of any kind, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising. We use no advertising networks. We do not share your profile with employers or job boards. You decide when to submit an application, and you are the one who submits it.

We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring, as described above. Neither is used for advertising and neither receives your uploaded files or the contents of your profile answers.

We honour Global Privacy Control signals.

We will disclose data only where we must: to the providers above to run the service, to comply with a law or valid legal request, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a successor if internhunt is ever acquired or merged. If ownership changes, we will tell you before your data moves, and this policy will continue to apply until you are given a new one.

How it is protected

Data is encrypted in transit, and Supabase encrypts it at rest. Access is enforced at the database level so one account cannot read another account's data. Uploaded files live in a private store and are reachable only through short-lived links minted for you. Administrative access is limited to those who need it.

No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires, without unreasonable delay.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deleting your account removes your profile answers and the files you uploaded from our live systems immediately. We do not keep a backup copy of that content on our current plan.

We keep only the minimum record of your transactions that tax and accounting law requires, which does not include your profile content. That record can include that you agreed to a paid plan (the amount, the cadence, and the time), and we may keep it after you delete your account.

We keep your profile and files for as long as your account exists, because reusing them across applications is the whole point. If you have not created an account, your answers are kept only in your own browser and never reach our servers, and clearing your browser data clears them.

Inactive accounts. If you do not sign in for 24 months, we will email you, and if you do not sign in within 30 days of that email we will delete your account and its files.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

• See what we hold about you. Your answers are visible and editable in the product.
• Correct anything wrong, from within the product.
• Delete your data by deleting your account.
• Get a copy of your profile in a portable format. Email us and we will send it.

Depending on your state, you may also have the right to know what categories we collect and who we share them with, all of which is described above, and to appeal if we refuse a request.

To make a request, email support@internhunt.co from the address on your account. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need longer.

To appeal a refusal, reply to our decision within 30 days and ask us to reconsider. We will review it and respond in writing within 60 days with our reasons. If we still refuse, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov, or the attorney general of your own state.

Cookies and similar storage

internhunt uses cookies to keep you signed in and your session secure. These are essential: they are set only after you sign in, page scripts cannot read them, and they carry no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Where product analytics is enabled, PostHog also sets a first-party identifier so we can tell one visit from another and see which parts of the product are used. It is first-party only, it is not shared with advertisers, and it is not used to build a profile of you across other websites.

We use no third-party advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

Where your data is processed

internhunt and its providers process and store data on servers in the United States. If you use internhunt from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the United States for the purposes described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. For a change that materially affects how we use your data, we will email you before it takes effect. Continued use of internhunt after a change means you accept the updated policy.
